Kona High Private Reserve coffee is among Kona's rarest and finest. Our diminutive 6-acre estate farm is perched high on the misty slopes of the dormant Hualalai Volcano in the artist community of Holualoa, above Kona. Holualoa's perfect coffee growing climate combined with her rich volcanic soil has produced many of the World's finest coffees.
Among those grown there, at elevations above 3,400 feet Kona High is unrivaled as the region's highest altitude coffee estate. Coffee beans ripen slowly at higher altitude which allows the flavors to concentrate, resulting in lower yields of much denser, richer and less bitter beans for a remarkably superior cup. We invite you to see for yourself why we are so proud of this most unique and wonderful coffee.
A natural-dried arabica coffee roasted to a rich, dark finish. A hearty coffee for the true coffee lover, with a husky, yet smooth, full-bodied taste. 2011 Cupping Profile: One of our best dark roast offerings grown to date. Ideal, drier than normal harvest conditions allowed consistent, quality over-ripening of cherries on the trees and a controlled in-husk aging after harvest. The result? A bold and nutty cup, with a hint of spice, and a rich, lingering mouthfeel.
